Community Chest annual Winter Woolly Drive in collaboration with SPAR Eastern Cape will kick off on the 1st June 2021. It is once again, humbling to be able to support the Community Chest in their annual Winter Wooly Drive and we hope that the people of Gqeberha/ Port Elizabeth will as always rise to challenge of making a small difference in the lives of the less fortunate, said Alan Stapleton from SPAR EC.
The cold winter snap has finally arrived and for most of us winter is the month of comfort where we snuggle under warm blankets, enjoying a warm plate of food and a hot drink. This is sadly not shared by our vulnerable community members who face these enormous challenges of making it through the winter period.
There are many who don’t have shelter, no shoes, no blankets or warm clothes. Your unwanted, unused items, old jackets, shoes, socks or even blankets can bring warmth to the less fortunate.
“This is always an exciting time for us at Community Chest where we get to witness the outpouring of love from Nelson Mandela Bay residents looking to bring warmth to those less fortunate.” The experience is both humbling and heart-warming, “said Selwyn Willis, CEO – Community Chest of the Eastern Cape.
Donations can be dropped off at the Waterfront SPAR, Summerbreez SUPERSPAR, Sundridge SUPERSPAR, Newton Park SUPERSPAR and participating SPAR Stores or call our office on 041 582 15 92 and we will collect. The Winter Woolly Drive will run from 1stJune until the end of 31st August 2021.
